Our Team

Joseph T. King (J.T.) joined the team in 2022 and acts as its general counsel. J.T. began his career as a business development officer with Synovus Trust Company on Georgia’s coast before relocating to Jacksonville, Florida, as a licensed broker with Merrill Lynch. He then pursued the practice of law in securities litigation by representing higher net worth individuals as plaintiffs or defending independent broker-dealers with a Tampa, Florida, law firm. After a merger, he continued commercial litigation for sixteen years with a southeast regional law firm litigating matters including complex stakeholder disputes, healthcare litigation, government investigations, commercial foreclosures, banking litigation, employment litigation, and other general commercial litigation.

For almost three years, J.T. has been fostering relationships for Guaranty Financial, Inc., a commercial mortgage broker specializing in permanent, non-recourse financing for large commercial projects including apartment complexes, shopping centers, mixed-use office facilities, storage facilities, nursing home facilities, and other commercial income producing properties.

Mr. King obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree and Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia. He holds a real estate license, an insurance license, and is a member of the Florida Bar and a board member of C.H. Ferguson – M.E. White American Inn of Court. When he’s not working, J.T. enjoys spending time with his lovely bride and two daughters.
